Lake Lanier Blogs

From the DNR and Ken Sturdivant:

The number next to each park refers to the number of ramps:

Big Creek Park (1)
Charleston Park (3)
Clarks Bridge Park (1)
Shoal Creek Park (1)
Tidwell Park (1)

Several of these were extended last year.

Big Creek only has 3.2 ft. of water at the end of the ramp. If we don't get some of that tropical storm it will probably close by the end of the week.

Do you run a website about Lake Lanier?

Would you like to add a little box to your site, just like the one on the right-hand side, showing all your visitors the current water levels on Lake Lanier?

All you need to do is take the following code and paste it into your site:

<script src="http://www.lakelanier.info/ll.php"></script>

The script will fit into most spaces on your site and it updates every day!

On the frontpage you may have noticed a neat little addition to our site - a small box showing what the current level of the lake is.

This data is updated daily and we've added an automatic comparison, so you can see how Lake Lanier stands compared to full pool. Currently the lake is only just under 3 foot below maximum - much better than it was just a few months ago.

We hope you find it useful and if you have any more ideas for how we can bring you useful information about the late, feel free to get in touch.

Has anyone else noticed that LakeLanier50.com have published a whole set of interesting photos of the original construction of the lake?

Some of the photos on the history pages are too small to see properly but they have larger versions running on the frontpage of the site.

Over the weekend, we published a frontpage article about the kayaking trail being developed in North Georgia, from Helen to Lake Lanier.

Early the week the story has been picked up the AJC, Access North Georgia, 11 Alive News and other outlets.

Hopefully the positive mentions of this move will lead to more people hearing about the trail and getting out on the water. A ride from Helen to Lake Lanier with picnic trails on route sounds like an A+ tourist attraction.
