Lazy Days Hosts Major Marina Festival

Lazy DaysLazy Days Marina in Buford received a big boost recently when it was chosen to National Marina Day on August 9th.

Apparently they chose Lazy Days and Lake Lanier as an example of how businesses can "overcome adversity – such as the one caused by the drought. Lazy Days turned negatives into positives."

The Buford area continues to grow and be a good place to do business. Buford was named by CNN as the third best place in the country to start a business.

The event is organized by the Association of Marina Industries who said that “the marinas of lake Lanier are their own community and they are proud to show off their facilities. Look for many of the marinas on the lake to join in the National Marina Day celebration”.

Buford is a great place to start a business? Just not a Marina business on Lake Lanier!

I dont think it was smart to pick a marina on Lanier to represent Marina Day. It will just hi-lite the fact that the lake is lower than ever, and more dangerous to use than ever.

There are some people doing good work on this ... the good people at the Lake Lanier Association doing most of it.
