Now that winter is here and the January and February cold is about to bite, most people stay off Lake Lanier and find a warm place to hide.
We have to politely disagree with that attitude. Lake Lanier is still a great place to hang out during the winter and here we present our top 10 Lake Lanier winter attractions:

Spend the night. Plenty of hotels and cabins are still open with lake view. You can find some here .
Rent a boat. 2007 is already turning out to be a warm winter, excellent for a cruise with good food, drink and company. You can find a list of Boat Rental places here .
Have a get-together at a park. Parks such as Laurel Park have big BBQ areas available for cheap rent and perfect for family, church or company weekend fun.

Go swimming! Or at least watch other people do it. News Years Day is home to the annual Polar Bear Swim .
