Shane Watson Guide Service Report. The last few days the bigger stripers have been great and today was no exception. Big freelined bluebacks fished on a regular freeline, 20-50 feet behind the boat have produced best. Pull 4 freelines without planerboards over as many shallow points as you can. Keep your baits changed and your rods bouncing. The advantage of pulling the regular freeline is that when you get a bite or catch a fish on a point, you can turn quickly and go right back over it and catch another one or two. When you fish with planerboards, you can pull more rods but you can't turn around and go back as easily. The other advantage of pulling 4 freelines when the fish are very shallow is that all 4 rods are in the srike zone, as when you pull boards on or two are in the zone and the rest are too far off the bank. Most of these bigger fish we are catching are with the baits fairly close to the boat, with the boat in 5 - 10 feet of water. This report is brought to you by Shane Watson Guide Service and Hammond's Fishing Center. Good Fishing and We Appreciate Everyone's Business.
