Duckett MillThis US Army Corps of Engineers managed campground is located off Dawsonville Highway (GA 53), next to Bolding Bridge. Its amenities include: campsites with and without hookups, showers, dumpstation, restrooms, laundry, picnic tables, boat ramp, and a swim area. Reservations can be made by calling 1-877-444-6777 or on the web at www.recreation.gov. Sites range in price from $15 for a primitive walk-in campsite to $25 for campsites with water and 50 amp electricity. Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles. Pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Phone: 770-532-9802 Directions: From Atlanta, take 400 North to exit 17, turn right on Hwy. 306, turn right on Hwy. 53, turn right on Duckett Mill Rd. which ends at the campground. River ForksHall County campground and park opens at 10 a.m. year-round with 46 RV sites and 16 tent sites, near Gainesville on Keith's Bridge Road. Gates close at 8 p.m. during in-season months (March 1-Dec. 31; closed January and February.) Fees vary. Reservations can be made up to 30 days prior to arrival, with payment in full and a reservation fee of $5. Checkout time is 1 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday and major holidays. Campers receive Wednesday free if they camp on Monday and Tuesday. Amenities include 118-acre park, 24-hour security, three picnic shelters, 60 picnic sites with grills, boat ramp, 40,000-square-foot beach with volleyball net, four playgrounds, handicapped access picnic sites, 63 campsites with electric and water hook-ups, five restroom/shower buildings, bathhouse with showers, sewer pump out station for RV/campers, horseshoe pits.
