Baldridge Creek

This US Army Corps of Engineers managed campground is located in Cumming. Its amenities include: campsites with hookups, showers, dumpstation, restrooms, laundry, picnic tables, boat ramp, and a swim area. Reservations can be made by calling 1-877-444-6777 or on the web at www.recreation.gov. Sites range in price from $15 for a primitive walk-in campsite to $25 for campsites with water and 50 amp electricity. Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles. Pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. The 2007 opening and closing dates are March 28 - October 28.

Lake Lanier Islands

Old Federal Park

Sites range in price from $15 for a primitive walk-in campsite to $25 for campsites with water and 50 amp electricity. Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles. Pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Old Federal Campground is open through October 29.

Sawnee

Sites range in price from $15 for a primitive walk-in campsite to $25 for campsites with water and 50 amp electricity. Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles. Pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Sawnee Campground is open through September 10th.

Shady Grove

This campground is located off Shadburn Ferry Road in Cumming. Its amenities include: campsites with and without hookups, showers, dumpstation, restrooms, picnic tables, group shelters, boat ramp, and a beach/swim area. Sites range in price from $16 for a primitive walk-in campsite to $24 for campsites with water and 30 amp electricity. Group areas can be reserved for $150 and $130. Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles. Pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited.

This US Army Corps of Engineers managed campground is located in Buford off Buford Dam Road. Its amenities include: campsites with and without hookups, showers, dumpstation, restrooms, laundry, picnic tables, a picnic pavilion, boat ramp, and a swim area. Shoal Creek Campground also has group area sites that can be reserved for $150 and $170. Reservations can be made by calling 1-877-444-6777 or on the web at www.recreation.gov. Sites range in price from $15 for a primitive walk-in campsite to $25 for campsites with water and 50 amp electricity. Campsite occupancy is limited to a maximum of 8 people and 3 vehicles. Pets must be kept on a leash not exceeding 6 feet in length. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited. The 2007 opening and closing dates are April 25 to September 9.

Why do all parks say they offer primitive, walk-in sites, yet when you call each one, they tell you they don't offer them?
