Powerhouse Park on Lake Lanier - Lake Lanier Parks

Located in Buford off Buford Dam Road, Powerhouse Park backs up to the Buford Dam and has lovely views of the Chattahoochee River. It is a favorite spot for hikers, fishermen, tubers, and kayakers. The Laurel Ridge Trail (3.8 miles) goes through this park (as well as Buford Dam Park and Lower Overlook). Along with the gorgeous views and clear water, there is a wildlife lookout point and a nice bridge that takes pedestrians over the river just behind the dam. It is a pretty popular spot on a summer weekend. For those looking to go tubing or rent kayaks, Up the River Outfitters uses the park as its drop spot. No pets are allowed.
