Van Pugh North Park is located off Gaines Ferry Road . It is a fee park and costs $4 per vehicle to enter. This park is a popular park, especially on summer weekends when many use the facilities for barbecues and parties. Amenities include: a boat ramp, many picnic tables and grills scattered throughout the park, playgrounds, a reservable picnic pavilion (call 770-945-9531), a sheltered grill area next to the pavilion, a designated swim area and beach, and gorgeous views. No pets are allowed in this park.

Van Pugh South Park is located on the southeast end of the lake. It is unique in that it is a day camp park, meaning visitors may bring their tents, campers, gear, etc..., however must vacate the park at night. Sites are first come first serve. The park features 57 individual sites with picnic tables and grills, shower washhouses, a playground, and boat ramp. Sites are limited to 8 people and 2 motorized vehicles. There is a $10 fee for each vehicle that enters the park. Pets must be leashed and alcoholic bevarages are prohibited. This park opens at 8am on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.

Van Pugh South Park also has a small non-pay section that has beautiful views and nice beaches (though not designated swim areas). If you do plan to visit this area, it would be wise to bring some lawn chairs as there is no seating available.

HEY!!!! CORP. OF ENG...MOVE THE DOCK AT THE Van Pugh BOAT RAMP INTO THE WATER!!!! I AM PAYING 30.00 A YEAR AT "YOUR" FACILTY AND WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WALK THOROUGH 30 YARDS OF MUD TO GET TO OUR BOAT WHEN ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS MOVE THE DOCK INTO THE WATER.IT'S ALREADY THERE SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO BUY ONE JUST MOVE THAT ONE. AND WHEN THE WATER GOES BACK UP THEN MOVE IT BACK UP. SHOULDN'T BE TO HARD WITH ALL OF YOUR RESOURCES AND ALL OF OUR MONEY!!! I WILL ALSO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL OFFICE.
