Business Still Investing in Lake Lanier

ImageAmongst all the bad news for the lake this year, its easy to lose site of the fact that there have been a lot exciting developments announced. Businesses are still enthusiastically investing in the area. Here are the top six projects on the drawing board for Lake Lanier:

  1. Lake Lanier Islands is planning s a $100 million four-star hotel to replace PineIsle Resort.
  2. A $130 million hotel and water parkhas been approved for Mary Alice Park in Cumming.
  3. Major fishing tournaments and ramp construction are planned for Laurel Park.
  4. The YMCA is pushing hard to revamp Bethel Park.
  5. The world's largest indoor ski slope is planned for the west side of the lake.
  6. Port Royale Marina is pushing ahead with ambitious expansion plans.

How about restaurants? Sorry, but I'm originally from up in the Midwest where there are an abundant amount of lakes but, hey, restaurants were every on the lakes! It makes Lake Lanier look uninviting and I think it needs to be stepped up! I know the general public agrees. Come On!!!!

The reason there aren't more on the lakefront itself are Corps of Engineers regulations unfortunately.

i agree, more restaurants and other interesting areas to dock and shop would be nice.. the boating is amazing when you have water, but having some fun destination points for family and visitors would be much more inviting.
